Land Forms and Climate
The terrain is large, flat plateau surrounded by hills. This affects population distribution because not many people want to be in the mountainous areas so the majority of people live in the flat areas making them densely populated.
There are two different climates in Spain. There is the Mediterranean climate which is characterized as hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Then there is the vast central plateau climate or Meseta. This is characterized as hot dry summers and cold winters. There is just a slight difference between the two. The lack of severe cold during the winter would be a pull factor for some people.
